The building of Selydove Secondary School No. 2, located in Selydove, Donetsk region, has suffered severe damage due to the military aggression of the Russian Federation. Enemy shelling destroyed part of the structures, damaged the interior, and rendered the building unusable.
The main school building, constructed in 1965 based on a standard design, as well as auxiliary structures, including garages, were affected by artillery and missile strikes. Restoring the school will require significant resources and a comprehensive approach.
The reconstruction project includes the creation of a vestibule, a sports hall, a cafeteria, an assembly hall, and a media library. A separate block with an inner play courtyard is planned for the needs of the primary school. The reconstruction also covers the garages, which will be repurposed for the training vehicles of the driving school. A new building for vocational workshops is designed near the school, which will be used for lecture-based driving school courses and labor training.
A key feature of the project is the creation of a STEM laboratory, where students will be able to conduct their own research, experiments, and develop innovative solutions using specialized equipment. Upon completion of the reconstruction, the school will be able to accommodate 785 students, and its spaces will be available for additional activities such as school competitions and various clubs.

This project is developed within the framework of the Project Support Institute of the “U-LEAD with Europe” program, which aims to assist communities in preparing local reconstruction projects. U-LEAD is a cooperation program between the Government of Ukraine, the European Union, and its member states (Germany, Poland, Denmark, and Slovenia), focused on creating a transparent and accountable multi-level governance system that meets the needs of Ukrainian citizens.
