The “Shelest” residential complex is located between Studynskoho and Nahirna Streets, on the northern outskirts of Lviv. In recent years, this part of the city has been developing rapidly, transforming into a fully-fledged residential cluster with its own infrastructure, transport accessibility, and a distinctive architectural identity. Thanks to its dynamic urban growth, the area is shaping a new, vibrant urban fabric that combines the comfort of suburban living with the advantages of the city environment.
A distinctive feature of the “Shelest” project is the area’s active natural terrain, which not only gives the complex visual expressiveness but also enables unique spatial solutions in both landscaping and the architecture of the buildings themselves. Instead of leveling the site, we chose to preserve its natural characteristics, which allowed us to avoid extensive earthworks. A terraced foundation with sections at different levels was used, along with a complexly configured parking area that is partially embedded into the terrain and partially above ground. This approach ensured not only functionality but also the organic integration of the development into the landscape. The entrances to each section of the residential complex are designed with the elevation differences in mind, adding spatial dynamism and individuality to each one.
Thanks to the complex’s advantageous location on elevated ground, residents can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of central Lviv. This creates a unique atmosphere, adding both aesthetic and emotional value to everyday life.
The complex consists of seventeen residential sections, unified by a cohesive architectural concept. Together, they form an integrated and harmonious structure that avoids monotony through carefully considered volumetric and spatial accents.
The ground floors feature commercial spaces that will provide future residents with convenient access to essential services right within the complex. The entrance areas have been designed with maximum comfort and attention to detail: user-friendly ramps, modern finishing materials, and spacious lobbies—all contributing to a welcoming first impression of the residence.
The apartment layouts are ergonomic and tailored to the modern needs of various types of families. Private patios—individual courtyards—are planned on the ground floors, combining the advantages of urban apartments with the charm of suburban living.
An important element in shaping the architectural character of the buildings is the use of balconies of varying sizes, which increase toward the south, adding plasticity and visual diversity to the overall form. The terracing of the buildings emphasizes the natural slope of the terrain and creates additional summer spaces designed to fully capitalize on the complex’s scenic potential.
